Vitiligo means white spot. In other words it is a disease that cause loss of skin color on any part of the body.
This happens when pigment producing melanocyte cells stop working.
This can happen in any part of the body. It is more visible in dark skin people. This disease is neither harmful nor contagious but it is associated with social stigma, leading patients to depression. Hence treatment is important.
Symptoms: loss of skin color on any body parts, can affect mouth, eyes, hair also.
